NEW INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
APC's pickleball machine (Lobster Pickle II) will be made available for practice sessions under the supervision of an APC volunteer. The volunteer will be a facilitator and time keeper to ensure the machine is set properly for you and to address any logistics.
There will be a $10 charge for this event.
If we have sufficient number of trained volunteers to supervise the machine, we will schedule practice sessions on Thursdays between 1:30pm and 3:30pm and on Saturdays between 10:00am and 12noon. The sessions will take place on one of the lower courts at Truxton Park.
Each session will consist of two 60 minute slots. 4 APC members can sign up for each slot. The players will take turns practicing with the machine and retrieving balls during the 60 minute slots. Remember, the volunteer will not be a coach nor a ball-boy/girl.
If you have signed up for the first time slot, please arrive 15 minutes early to help the volunteer set up the net and the machine. If you have signed up for the second time slot, please plan to stay an additional 15 minutes to help the volunteer store the net and the machine.
Due to high demand for these sessions, you can only sign up for one slot per day, an only one session per month. Only persons who have signed up in advance may play at these practice sessions.
If you sign up, please plan to show up. If an emergency arises and you can't show up, then please cancel your registration on the website so that someone from the waitlist can take your place. Your registration confirmation will contain a link for cancellations also. Please do not try to cancel by email to the organizers. We have had recurring issues with people registering and then not showing up. That is extremely unfair to the many folks who ended up on the waitlist.
Paul Hackner, who serves on the Player Development Committee, will initially be leading the lobster machine coordination.
